adventurECO recently conducted instruction for the on-bike / on-road component of a League of American Bicyclists Smart Cycling Complete class for participants from the Virginia Tech Center for Sustainable Mobility as a prerequisite for an upcoming League Cycling Instructor (LCI) seminar. Congratulations to all participants for successfully completing the Smart Cycling Complete class! With successful completion of the Smart Cycling Complete class participants are now eligible to participate in a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) seminar, an intense three-day education seminar. With successful completion of the LCI seminar and other requirements, participants can earn the prestigious certification of League Cycling Instructor (LCI).
The Smart Cycling Complete class, which encompasses the Basics, Intermediate, and Advanced in-class portions of the curriculum as well as the on-road portion is the prerequisite class to becoming an LCI. The Smart Cycling curriculum teaches bicyclists to ride their bikes like vehicles and promotes a set of rules and concepts that help bicyclists ride more effectively and safely as they gain experience and build confidence.
